Tactical Map Preview

Our last post previewed the Strategic Map. That map is designed to be compact and full of information, and allow you to jump to any point of interest in the map quickly. Now that we've gotten it to a working state, today we'd like to show off the much flashier companion: the Tactical Map.

As with the other map, this is far from done but hopefully gives a taste of what's to come. The tactical map will eventually show a breakdown of fleet size and strength, and will be the screen from which you issue your fleet movement orders. How do you issue an order? Drag and drop. Yes, it's going to be awesome. You'll also being able to drag-scroll around this map, similar to the interface seen in Google Maps.
